If the children's clothing you're shopping for uses a sizing system you aren't familiar with, it can be a challenge to know what will fit. These size conversion charts will give you an easy reference when you're online shopping for newborn clothes, toddler clothes, boys' clothes, and girls' clothes. Remember that, even with this clothing size conversion chart, children's clothes from different manufacturers often fit differently. You may find that some brands work better for tall, slim children, while other brands tend to fit short, chubby kids. Once you find a brand that fits your child's build, you may want to keep shoppping for it as they grow.

1. Babies grow very quickly, and they need a lot of new clothes. The sizes for baby clothes are based on average weights and heights for their ages, but remember that all children develop differently; some children won't wear clothes in sizes that correspond to their ages. The sizes are the same for infant girls' clothing and infant boys' clothing.

2. Baby clothing sizes may be listed as a range, such as "3 to 6 months." The size will be the same as the larger size in the range. So the size "3 to 6 months" would be the same as the size simply called "6 months."

1. Toddler clothing is meant for children between ages 2 and 6, but as with baby clothing, you'll want to choose clothes based on the weight and height of your child and not just the age given in the size. Toddler sizes are followed by the letter "T." Little girls' clothes and little boys' clothes pick up where toddler sizes end and don't have a letter in the size until they get to 6; 6X in girls is just slightly larger than a 6, but the styles will still be meant for little girls.
