I used this scope with the German reticle to take several African plains game in the Limpopo area, to include: wildebeest, waterbuck, warthog, gemsbok, blesbok, zebra, and many jackals. I survived the place trip and was still dead on upon arrival. Mt guide was trying to swing deals for him to keep the scope when I left!
Read MoreMy dad used this scope on my 30-06 in Limpopo to take eland, impala, oryx, two blosbok, and a ton of jackals. It survived the trip just fine and is crystal clear. Perfect magnification for brushy areas where you might have to reach out to a few hundred yards rarely.
Read Morei purchased a Leupold VX 3 approxoimately 25 years ago. A 3.5-10x 40 mm. I mounted it on a Remington 700 in 300 Weatherby Magnum. i have harvested several deer and a spike bull elk. when i fell on the rifle and scope on a slippery slope, the scope was fine. i harvested 2 more deer at 150 yards before I reaized the base mounting screws were busted. I have purchaseda new VX 3i in 3.5-10 to mount on the Remington. i will mount the VX3 on my Model 70 after i recieve it back from having Leupold check it out. I only want to purchase Leupold scopes.
Read MoreThis CDS scope is incredible! It performs exactly as advertised, watch the Video named (Shooting with CDS Featuring Fred Eichler) on you tube. This is exactly what my experience was! You definitely need to Chronograph your bullet speed from your rifle and get Leupold as much accurate information as possible. If you don't have a Chronograph and your rifle barrel is shorter than 24" you need to deduct 25-35 FPS per inch less than 24 inches... Measure your height from the center of the bore to the center of your scope also, don't just guess its probably higher than you think! Anyway i'm rambling, buy the scope, call Leupold, they'll walk you through it!!
Read MoreI currently own at least three of these and am very satisfied with them. For my purposes, whitetail hunting in the South, it is an almost perfect scope. Honestly I am writing this to encourage Leupold to offer the VX3 3.5-10 in both 40 and 50mm objectives with a 30mm main tube in addition to the 1 inch models.
Read MoreI have had the scope for a little over a year and love it. Glass is clear even and max magnification. even after about 500-rds it is still zeroed!
Read MoreI purchased two of these over the years and I am very pleased. The simplicity of this scope make it an ideal scope for my Vermont deer stalking. I have used this scope model on both a Howa .223 Rem. for calling predators as well as on my M96 rifle built 1905 in 6.5 X 55 Mauser for deer hunting. The generous eye relief and clarity make it a fast handling scope for the thick Vermont cover. Regardless of the critter this scope has helped me bag it keeps on assisting me harvesting fur and venison. The one on my M96 6.5 X 55 scored again this season with a nice Vermont buck.
Read Moreowned this scope for over 20 yrs has never let me down always spot on and clear. it works for shots from 20 yds to 500 yds and very durable
Read MorePut the CDS VX-3 on my coyote AR and had a CDS dial made for my 69 gr rounds. Installed it, went to the range and hit the 500 yrd target with first two rounds 2 inches apart. Went coyote hunting and dialed to onto a 443 yrd coyote and hit him perfect. Great product
Read MoreMy old M8 4X has been on several different rifles for 25 years. Last month something came loose and it wouldn't hold zero. Sent back to Leupold for repair and they sent me a new one "No Charge". Now that's a warranty!
Read MoreSo pleased I bought CDS system. Easy to set up and use. I hunted Kansas last week and put the scope to the test on a Tc pro hunter 300 mag. I ranged a stud at 367 yards with my leupold range finder. I set my scope at 370, put the crosshairs on him and dropped him in his tracks. I got my life long trophy buck. He scored 165 with a couple of times broke off. Hunted with salt river outfitters in Kansas. See attached photo.
Read MoreExtremely satisfied with the quality of this scope and accuracy of the cds turret. Took scope to the east cape of South Africa and took 6 animals with 6 shots on my Browning Abolt 7mm Remington Magnum. Animals hunted were duiker, reedbuck, springbok, gemsbok, kudu and blue wildebeest. Shot placement nearly perfect on all animals including kudu dropping to shot at 325 yards. Couldn't recommend product more highly.
Read MoreI've had this scope for a couple years now. I used it last year to bag my first bison in the NWT, Canada. I have it on my Browning 30-06 X-bolt, and I use it mostly for bear, moose, and bison. I hike and canoe a lot with the rifle, so the low weight was essential. It was a great buy. Great value and it's hard to find a scope that weighs less than this one.
Read Morehave had it for 3 years love the dial up yardage feature works perfect out to my longest shot at elk with a rem 700 xcr in 7mm ultra mag
Read MoreI just bought VXIII 4.5-14-50mm and love it. I'm hoping to go out west antelope hunting next year, therefore I'm practicing with my CDS as much as possible. Normally I hunt on the east coast of North Carolina (fairly close shots). Also I would like to tell you something funny that happened when I ordered my CDS. Now keep in mine this is my third Leupold scope. When the custom shop asked if I had a account with Leupold or had I ever bought anything from them my answer was: ARE YOU KIDDING, I USE LEUPOLD SCOPES. The sales person and I got a good laugh. That would make a good commercial.
Read MoreThis scope does all that it advertises and has held up nicely being that it has been subject to abuse for many years. Leupold stands behind their products and offers an exceptional warranty. Would purchase again.
Read MoreI have owned my share of leupold optics over the years. I have never had one fail to perform in any of the hunting and shooting extremes I have subjected them to. I just finished a British Columbia horseback moose hunt this year. It was a hunt I had always dreamed of getting to do. So you bet a Leupold Scope was on my rifle. From bush plane, bumps and bangs on horseback to rain. No loss in zero, no fogging! This is why I buy Leupold! Keep up the great work, Jim Wise
Read MoreI purchased this VX-3 scope in Feb of 2016. The clarity of the optics is incredible. The scope is accurate, light weight, and durable. I have seen no variance from 110 degree heat to 7 degree cold. I would highly recommend this scope to anyone who wants a quality product at a reasonable price. Thanks to the Leupold Team for manufacturing a great American product.
Read MoreI've been using this scope for a few years now and I'm just as pleased with it today as I was the day I mounted it on my Savage Lightweight Hunter. I bought this one through the Custom Shop at Leupold and really enjoy the custom color & engravings along with the top-notch quality of the scope. The light weight was something I really wanted, but not at the sacrifice of glass quality, this scope excels in both areas. Leupold4Life would sum up how I feel about this scope.
Read MoreDon't worry about paying more for a Leupold scope than you do for a rifle, it will last more than a lifetime and fit on the best guns too. I was never sorry for purchasing this scope about 25 years ago. When you buy yours, be sure to use Leupold scope mounts too.
