Beautiful This was delivered in a well protected box. Each piece was perfect except for one which had a small nick on a back piece. Easy to put together, very sturdy and looks beautiful. Is pretty much a standard white so goes with any other white paint as long as its white and not off white. Holds a lot of books or nick nacks. One foot was slightly off (a little wobble) but it also could be my floor. We just put a shim under and steady as she goes!

almost perfect The quality of the shelves were great. The only downside was that we had to return the product two different times to get he correct piece. It had two left sides instead of one left and one right to put it together. It just took them two times to send the correct pieces. It didn't take too long to receive which was great.

As pictured WE just bought this in brown and I'm happy with the quality. I feel like it looks more expensive than it is. I always wish book cases were a little easier to put together but this was no harder than any other. I left the back off for a more open etagere look. Since the back is a cheap piece of cardboard I didn't feel like it was a loss. I like it a lot.

"Two quick questions- Is assembly possible without attaching the ugly, cheap-looking back panel? Are there visible screws on the outside sides where it connects w the shelving? (I bought a shelf and it had big screw holes and they provided hideous stickers to cover them!?! THANKS in advance for the answers!"

A:
1) You can absolutely leave off the back panel. The shelf is solid wood and doesn't need to the back panel to be sturdy. 2) The shelves are all held on with bolts, which secure from the inside just under the shelves. you do not see them at all on the outside. They are visible (silver in color) on the inside of the shelf, however. I have had it put together for almost a month, and once I put things on the shelf I didn't notice them at all. You could also probably paint them white to make them even less noticeable.

I agree with the other answer. These shelves are very sturdy and you don't need the backs. I was going to leave them off to see the painted walls through the shelf but changed my mind. You really don't notice the backs once they are on. Also I love the design. You do see the scres in the inside of the shelves but I have lots of books and nik/naks so you don't notice. I also think you could paint them or putty them.

I'm not sure on an exact weight limit, but these are solid wood shelves held on by 4 bolts each, not like the flimsy MDF bookcases you get elsewhere. As long as your bolts are tight, I wouldn't worry too much about the weight.
