I installed this light on my own - I like to do home renovations and I research everything plus watch youtube videos. This is not a DIY installation if you don't have some knowledge of electrical and hanging lighting, and if you are not able to troubleshoot.
I was going from a recessed light to this chandelier. If this is your situation, I recommend using Westinghouse recessed conversion kit and save yourself money and headaches. I also bought a 10" medallion for the ceiling and spray painted it bronze. Matched well.
For the light - it is small. Little larger than a kick ball. Once I hung it, it definitely looks small but it will work in my entry way plus, I am ordering a second one for the other recessed lights I have. Color is dark. The hanging crystal brings it all together. I chose LED bulbs with candelabra base (skinny). The bulbs do not come with the light.
Installation - the instruction are worthless. Watch youtube videos and educate yourself. The wiring is too thick to thread the screw at the ceiling. I stripped the wires (plastic sheath on wire) about two inches and then threaded them through the screw. Clip the wires shorter once you have them threaded.
If you have someone install this light who has experience with lighting, they shouldn't have a problem and they'll know how to troubleshoot pesty problems.
I dinged the product one star because the instructions are worthless and there is a design flaw with threading the wires through the screw. For the price, it is worth troubleshooting the problems.
