The biggest issue with this bed is that it comes with only three slats for the mattress to rest on. After assembling the bed and placing a mattress on it, I sat on the bed and the mattress fell through the slats and folded like a taco, with me in the middle. I weigh 165 lbs. The same thing happened to my much smaller wife. However, the bed is marketed as a kid's bed, and it does support my 25 lb. son. But if he ever jumped on the bed - as kids love to do - this bed would be extremely unsafe. So much so that I am amazed there isn't a recall on this bed.
So, I went to Home Depot, bought about $10 of lumber and screws, and added a half dozen more slats. I have to wonder why the manufacturer skimped on one of the most important, and cheapest, parts of the bed?!
Other than that, the bed is well made. The materials aren't cheap (real wood) though the finish is just okay for the price. It looks good and knowing it will be thrashed by kids I'm not going to nit-pick quality issues inherent with foreign made products.
The wheels on the Trundle are too small (or narrow), so if the bed is on padded carpet the wheels sink in and the trundle will drag, making it very difficult to roll in and out (certainly too difficult for a kid). If it is on a hard floor, you will not be able to have a rug where the trundle rolls as the front panel will hit the rug before the wheels get there.
For reference, the trundle will hold a mattress up to 8" in height.
As noted in other reviews, it takes over a month for delivery. I know it took at least six weeks. The shipping company Great Offer Stock uses is unbelievably slow and has nightmare customer service. Great Offer Stock, however, provided great customer service trying to get my bed delivered sooner. The delivery guys themselves were very professional and courteous.
