READ THIS.. IMPORTANT TO KNOW! I don't recommend this product. The particle board is very thin and porous. In order to put a desktop printer on it, I had to reinforce the top with additional wood or else the top sagged down to where the top drawer brushed against it. There were 4 fastening posts which attach to the top and 1 of them poked right through the surface as I joined the parts together. As another review mentioned, the 1st time I put the CARDBOARD backing on the cabinet, it was skewed because there are no 90° corner brackets to square it off (it looked pretty straight but a small amount of slant shows up in haow the drawers fit). Also, it was a bit wobbly, so I used hardboard instead of cardboard for the back side and a coupl of 90° brackets I had along with checking squareness of the corners with a carpenters square. So if you don't want to modify it, don't buy it.

Beautiful, but the drawers are too small The cabinet is almost 21" deep but the drawers are only 13" deep. I didn't want to use of that much floor space without the benefit of the extra file space so I returned the item. The description doesn't state the drawer dimensions, so I assumed they would be proportional to the cabinet. Otherwise, it is really nice looking and pretty easy to put together. If you are not a person who does well with picture instructions, this may not be a good item to purchase.

drawer doesn't fit i have several pieces of this furniture and think it is well made and easy to put together. I have 2 of these file cabinets, the drawers on one are perfect, but the other is tilted and not easy to open or shut. Bit of an eye sore. But this range by Kathy Ireland is lovely. Highy recommend .

More attractive than a normal filing cabinet We are happy with this piece. It took about an hour for 2 people to put together, but the instructions were clear. Ours sits on carpet, so we are going to have to support the front with shims to keep it from rocking forward when opened. Overall very happy with the purchase.

just OK Pros:Attractive rustic finish, blends in with other furnishings nicely. Cons: horrible directions, difficult to assemble even for someone who is handy and has had lots of practice assembling stuff. From a distance it looks good, but on close examination is is obviously not a piece of fine furniture. should hold up and serve its purpose if not abused

I would not put a heavy printer on the top -- a small one would be okay. I had a small tv and DVD player on it for a while without a problem, now I have some books -- but a heavy printer would not work. The back is only made of cardboard. If you put on a better back, say of plywood, then I think you'd be okay.

It's made very well and I have my printer on top of it. I don't believe you will need reinforcement. The only drawback is having to assemble it. Other than that it looks very nice !
