I had this rug in my cart for almost 2 weeks before purchasing it. It was a risky move, it's a very large rug it was a pretty big price but a very fair price considering the size of the rug and the quality, but it was going to be difficult for me to pull the trigger on something so risky for an online purchase. I am so glad I did because it's the exact rug of my dreams that I was looking for LOL! Great Offer Stock must have seen It in my cart and gave me a very good coupon for the Safavieh products that helped me pull the trigger. I recently renovated and old farmhouse in upstate New York that has medium to dark wood colored original games on the ceiling and very medium to reddish brown pine floors. The ceilings are also very short so the best way for me to lighten up the room was to do light gray paint, linen white sheer curtains on the windows, and a light gray rug to kind of be the base of everything for the Decor. Anyone who has been trying to decorate something in a light gray/multitude of grays decorating scheme will know finding the true grays and light grays are very difficult. My living room is approximately 27 feet long or so ( it was once two rooms with a wall knocked down) so I thought I was going to have to end up getting two rugs and creating two separate seating areas one around the fireplace and one behind that. This rug solved all my problems by being 12 feet wide by 18 feet long. The Grays are true grays and the rug is primarily gray - it does have some linen coloring to it in some of the design but it's not overwhelming. I can't stand beige / tans and was very pleased that this rug is primarily gray and not off white or cream. The medallion is much more of a light blue - my accent color is a true teal / turquoise which this is not. When I was looking for reviews on this run I looked at many of the other sizes that came in to be diligent about what other people said about the coloring. Some of the photos do you portray the Dallion as being more of a teal, and others portrayed being more of a light blue, that is it's true color. its a very subtle light blue with a HINT of maybe jade, the other designs closer to the outside of the rug are a slightly darker blue than the medallion. These blues are NOT overwhelming and compliment my turquoise accent perfectly. I actually ended up with a more linen color couch (very difficult to find a true gray couch in the style I wanted) so this rug solved every design problem I had. It is so soft, I used the same brand same size rug grip underneath it and it feels very plush even without that so I don't think you even need a rug pad for s rug this size with furniture on it. I also don't have a large coffee table, just an area with a lot of fuzzy pillows on the floor for lounging and a bunch of side and accent tables. This rug is perfect for hanging out on the floor in in front of the fire or TV. Do yourself a favor and buy this rug, you'll be so happy you did!!
