This looks SO pretty in the picture! I loved those ornate carved panels and "antiqued" finish. In person, however... well, I still love the panels; they really look great! And the primary paint job is not bad, although FYI, it's closer to a faded yellow than the "off white" it's described. But the "antique" finish is just weird: looks like someone slapped on random splotches of grey and black paint--not subtle at all, and with definite edges, not blended or rubbed in. That is NOT how it appears in the picture, even when magnified. However, those grey & black splats are the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars, and I figured out an easy fix: I got some off-white paint, brushed it on then rubbed it off, repeating those 2 steps all over the dresser's surface, being careful to apply the paint in a very thin coat. Now that the splotches are blended, the finish looks truly "antique" and I'm happy. If it had arrived looking like this, I would've been thrilled & definitely given it 5 stars. I do recommend the dresser as a practical piece of furniture--it's the perfect size for a small bedroom, and well made--nice & sturdy. It says "assembly required" but that just means you have to spend about 3 minutes putting on those little round legs; super easy, no tools needed. I actually feel a little bad awarding only 3 stars...but, I also wish someone had warned me about the paint job!
Great Offer Stock does get 5 stars, though, for customer service and speedy delivery! I've been impressed every time I've dealt with them.
