It comes in a thousand pieces , the off white is not white at all. I want to return it im to lazy to put the million pieces back in the box grrrrr!
Read MoreThe white was not white it was a milky oil based paint that was terrible and hard to paint
Read MoreI have to say that I was about to print the label to return this item, when we decided to continue to put it together. When we were done, we looked at it and we loved it, so we ordered 2 more!! That said, the instructions to put this together are atrociously complicated for someone that is not used to put IKEA furniture together! I was very surprised that this company, which is also Scandinavian, did not make a good job with the instructions!! So if you want to have it, you really need to be patient. In our opinion it was worthy!!!
Read Morethanks to the stupid chat bots I managed to order 2 sets of FINISHED PARTICLE BOARD cabinet doors for which I have no bookcases. Move along
Read MoreI ordered 3 bookcases. All with the bottom solid doors, and 1 with the additional glass doors. Yes, one of the pine boards was split, but it was an easy fix with glue and a clamp. The doors are sometimes a trick to get to shut all of the way, but dinking with them = success. YES, it's whitewashed, YES you can see the pine wood grain and knots through the whitewash. It really is more of a 'vanilla' slightly creamy color than 'white'. It is ALL wood: which means I could get a similar board, whitewash it and add more shelves (yay!). I added 1 shelf more to each of the 3 bookcases. I could drill more holes and add more shelves if I wanted.... all wood makes these additions possible.
Read MoreAfter being delivered to an address in another State, it finally arrived at my home (2 weeks late) in beat up box. This after multiple online "chats" trying to sort out the situation. Upon opening the box I found a key piece broken. See attached. Now I'm stuck with a big broken unit and a box that is unusable for return. Forgot to mention that there were no doors included either.
Read MoreThese cabinets are made of cheap pine. The come in a million pieces. Even the back slats are separate and need to be nailed into place. Instructions are very confusing - and I've put together lots of furniture. They are shown as white, but they are actually whitewashed and the knots show through as blue. Proceed with caution.
Read MoreI really wanted some built-ins to replace 2 dark cherry regular bookcases on this wall. I had redecorated and they were too dark. After much discussion I knew built ins would probably not happen anytime soon so my goal was to find tall bookcases. There aren't many options out there and these were a little more than I hoped to pay but I'm happy with my purchase. One of the tops was marred and it looked to be done before shipping and the other had an issue as well but neither were bad enough to really worry about. I'm learning to give up the perfectionism because it's never going to happen. Some of the wood slats for the back were broke at the tongue part but nothing was missing so we put them all in and they were fine. It could be made better with more pilot holes. There were some but in other places where they would make a lot of sense there were none. At first the top trim pieces of the 2 were very out of whack. With no pilot holes one ended up screwed in a hair differently. Ultimately we took the trim apart on one and redid it to match the other. It was tough and I did part of it on a ladder while it was standing up next to the other to make sure I got it right. The trim pieces should be a bit longer so when 2 are together they can actually butt up against other. I wish the plastic fasteners used to hold the front trim on were white for the white cases instead of brown. Also they could use a piece of wood in the back base for stability. One piece was just slightly crooked from the pilot hole and it ended up splitting when we moved it. If there had been a 4th piece of wood for the base I don't think it would've done that. All that being said, I'm very happy with them. I love how tall they are and I think they turned out very nice.
Read MorePurchased the main bookshelf, the wooden doors and the glass doors. Bookshelf package was damaged at one corner (ripped open). The bookshelf package come with NO assembly instructions. The wooden door package and glass door packages came with instructions, but were missing all the pieces (like the wooden knobs). Great Offer Stock hasn't been helpful in getting us the assembly instructions in a timely fashion; we have to wait for someone to snail mail them, instead of emailing! This experience made me question making any more Great Offer Stock purchases because they aren't standing behind their products. That is a decline, because they used to offer better quality and service. We will be returning this bookshelf at Overstock's expense if they cannot back their product and help with what we need. Again, very disappointed in Overstock!
Read MoreI ordered this item with doors. the first order I placed, was lost and Great Offer Stock sent a replacement order. Today I received a set of doors and NO bookshelf. Done with this site.
Read MoreI bought four of these bookcase for my mini library. They are exactly what I was hoping for. They are white washed so a bit of the wood grain shows through the white which I love. They are definitely time consuming to put together and the directions are not the most clear. My husband and I spent about 6 hours (over two nights) to put them together. However they are very solid and look fabulous in the room.
Read MoreTo start, one of the boxes came damaged do to a lack of padding surrounding the bookcase. The damage was severe enough for me to try to send it back, but i didn't want to go through that, so i assembled it. The directions are beyond ridiculous, so poorly written, it took me a whole day to complete it, and this was definitely not my first rodeo. Once it was all assembled, i noticed the crown moldings didn't match up there was serious warping on multiple parts, and the doors have uneven gaps on both sides. I gave it 2 stars because once we painted it and added our books, it looks ok (from afar). But i guess you get what you pay for..
Read MoreI ordered 5 of these bookcases in the hopes of creating a "library" wall -- along with 5 sets of wood doors and the last set of glass doors available. Only one assembled very easily and nicely. The other four bookcases posed some challenges. They were of varying difficulty to assemble due to individual warps, incorrectly drilled or oddly spaced holes, etc.. It took me some time to figure out the wonky "universal" instructions; but as a female on the mature side, I did manage on my own and once I got the first one together the process was at least reasonable. Delivery was prompt. Several of the boxes arrived in damaged state. Let me say that customer service has been working with me and I am very impressed with their patience, professionalism and desire to serve the customer. One of the boxes of doors was completely missing the hardware. It seems the inventory on the doors is gone; so no hardware for those unless I can find it somewhere and submit for reimbursement (so far, three home supply stores have yielded nothing). Due to the missing hardware, I may not achieve the uniformity I was after. All that aside, the bookcases are real wood, seem to be serviceable and have a nice look to them in the space.
Read MoreI purchased three bookcases, a lowboy for my TV, and one set of bookcase cabinet doors, and they look amazing! These take up an entire wall in my living room and add so much to the overall look of my home. It helps to have two people to assemble the pieces, and it is not a fast process, but it's worth the time and effort. And after having shopped stores for something similar, I feel the price for this grouping was really good. My only complaint is that I would like to buy more cabinet doors, and they are currently not available.
Read MoreThe bookcase portion of this came came with multiple pieces of wood warped. In addition the shelf pieces came to short to fit on the knobs to hold books.
Read MoreBookcases arrived within a few days of being ordered. I love the white wash paint on the two bookcases. A friend helped me to put them together and he installed them to look like they were a built-in unit in my living room. We had no problems putting them together. The honey color tops almost reach my ceiling and match the pine dresser I have between them to make them look like they have always been a unit.
Read MoreWe bought 4 shelves. Putting together the first was a bit tough, but once we got the hang of it they were pretty straightforward. They are beautiful, but I was a bit surprised. We bought the white with honey. I pictured a solid white, but it's actually a white stain. You can clearly see the wood through the white haze. This is lovely, but not really what I expected from the pictures. We've attached all four shelves together and connected them to our wall. It looks like a very nice built-in.
Read MoreI'm very pleased with this bookcase, it's great quality, a good size and perfect for my needs. It is not solid wood but is sturdy and has a clean look and I like the dark brown color for a stylish modern look.
Read MoreAlthough this could be a lovely product, it was complicated and unclear when ordering and I ended up with doors instead of bookcases, which cost a fortune to return. Everything said I had ordered bookcases. Not pleased with this order.
Read MoreFirst these shelves are taller than described. Second, you need patience and tools to put this item together. The shelves are wonderfully engineered to use wood and space to their respective extreme but any slight deviation caused by swelling, shipping etc. will require creative and extreme measures to make them all fit together. But it is worth it. Lovely, lovely shelves for the cost [and time and effort].
