I purchased this coat for color and I need one with a hood. It's very warm, I suggest you only wear it when it's really cold outside otherwise you can expect to sweat profusely. The size runs kind of big I purchased a medium but could have used a small. It's a cute coat and the color is very rich. I'll have this one for a long time.
