It's the perfect size for a toddler. However, you will have a hard time finding a pillow case that is the accurate size

It's a good enough size for him to lay his head on and it's really comfortable. So far, happy with the purchase.

Our grand-daughter uses hers for her naps, and she loves it, since she's a side sleeper. I'm not sure how it is for a back sleeper though, but she almost always uses it on her side.
